Diamond Journey

Diamonds have been introduced several times in the KARAFURU diary.

In fact, the tiny gemstone diamond travels a huge distance and time to reach us. It is truly a gift from the earth, and an encounter with a diamond could be considered fate.

The diamonds we have in our hands are thought to have been born deep underground about 3 billion years ago. They then rose rapidly due to volcanic eruptions, and through repeated crustal movements, came closer to the earth's surface. (Both the depth and the speed of their rise are extraordinary!)
Much later, we humans were born.

When humans discovered diamonds by chance, they began to mine and process the diamonds that they had previously only picked up.
However, diamonds cannot be melted or reshaped, and inclusions and blemishes cannot be hidden.
That is why we continue to develop cutting techniques that avoid scratches and inclusions while preserving the shape of the rough stone and bring out the natural brilliance of diamonds.
A tiny piece of earth that was born a long time ago is transformed into a dazzling jewel through the hands of many people.

From birth to encounter, a diamond goes through an endlessly long journey that we cannot even imagine.
During their journey, each piece had a story, and they have become jewels that fascinate people all over the world.

Today we've given you a quick rundown of the diamond's journey.
How was it?

Nowadays, anything can be created artificially, and diamonds are no different; at first glance, it's hard to tell the difference.
But even a brief glimpse into this epic journey will show you the difference.

Instead of thinking of these limited gifts from nature as mere tiny fragments, learning about their background, as if reading a story, will make them seem even more precious and cherished.
