Ring size

The size of the ring has a big impact on how comfortable it is to wear.
Some of you may not know your ring size or have never measured it.
Today we're going to talk about ring sizes.

Size

Ring sizes are based on the measurement of the inner circumference of the ring.
The smallest size is size 1 (inner circumference 40.8 mm), and as the size number increases, the inner circumference increases by approximately 1 mm.

No. 10 50.3/16

No. 12 52.4/16.7

Size 15 55.5/17.7
Size 16 56.5/18

No. 19 29.7/19

Average size

The average size of the left ring finger is said to be between sizes 8 and 12 for women and between sizes 13 and 19 for men, but there are individual differences and the average value does not always apply.
People who play musical instruments, play sports, or have large hands tend to have larger fingers, but there's no need to worry if your fingers are thick.

Please measure your size accurately to ensure a comfortable fit.

How to measure

Specialist stores use a ring gauge to measure.
Start with a larger size and gradually go down a size until it fits your finger. Bend and open your finger to make sure it's not too tight. The ring is the right size if it doesn't come off even when you pull it lightly.

KARAFURU also uses a ring gauge.
We can also lend it to you by mail, so please contact us if you are interested.

An easy way to measure is to use a string or a thin strip of paper.
Wrap the paper around your finger and make a mark where it overlaps. Remove the paper and measure it with a ruler. Compare it to the inner circumference on the size chart, and the closest number is your ring size. You sometimes see scenes on TV where people measure their ring size with a straw wrapper.

One way to do this is to measure the inside diameter of a ring you normally wear.
If you want to propose as a surprise, you might want to consider this option.

Tips for choosing the size

The thickness of your fingers changes depending on your physical condition, the season, and the time of day. We recommend measuring your fingers several times throughout the day. Also, even if the ring size is the same, a thinner ring may feel loose, and a wider ring may feel cramped.

People tend to choose a looser size because they are worried about getting stuck, but this can cause the ring to spin around at the base of the finger or to gradually move and slip off. Try choosing a size that catches at the base of your finger or at the second joint.

The trick to removing a ring is to hold it vertically against the knuckle, lift it from the palm side to the back of the hand, and slowly move it back and forth as you remove it. Once you get the hang of it, you may find that a smaller size than you thought was actually the right fit.

The size of the ring has a big impact on how comfortable it is to wear.
Because I want to wear it forever, I want to make a careful decision.
