Is it okay to leave the ring on?

Many people may have been aware since childhood that a wedding ring is something you should always wear. That was the case for me, and often the only accessory you are allowed to wear at work is your wedding ring.

Wearing a ring all the time gives you a sense of security like a talisman, and you are less likely to lose it, but in these days of hygiene concerns, some people may wonder whether it is okay to wear a ring all the time.

According to a survey, about 60% of people who own wedding rings tend to leave them on all the time.
In fact, this is a question we get asked often at our store.

However, if you leave your ring on, it will easily get dirty and scratched, which will ruin the ring's natural beauty, and it will also make it easier for germs to get in. This can lead to athlete's foot, or germs can grow if the gap between the ring and the skin is not cleaned properly.

It is difficult to remove dirt between the ring and the skin with simple hand washing, which can lead to hygiene issues when eating at home.

We've had customers who suspected they had a metal allergy, but it turned out that their skin problems were actually caused by bacteria.

Scenes to be particularly careful of

- When cooking...for hygiene reasons, it is recommended that you remove the mask before cooking.
- When washing dishes...detergent can make the ring fall off easily.

To prevent loss

To prevent losing the ring, we recommend that you decide on a place to put it when you take it off. The trick to avoid losing it is to prepare a ring pillow at home and make it a habit to put it there when you take it off.

It is recommended that you bring a ring pouch when you take it off when you are out. If you put it in your clothes pocket, you may forget that you have taken it off and lose it.

Care at home

Some of you may now be spending more time at home. Why not take this opportunity to care for your rings at home?

1. Add a few drops of neutral detergent to a cup of water or lukewarm water.

② Dip the ring in ① and gently scrub it with a toothbrush with soft bristles. Don't forget to brush the back of the ring. (Be careful, using a brush with hard bristles may scratch the ring.)

3) Rinse with water and wipe off moisture with a soft cloth.

We recommend polishing your ring regularly with a soft cloth. Platinum, gold and diamond rings in particular can become dull due to oil, so polish them regularly with a soft cloth to keep them beautiful.

We don't recommend wearing your ring in the bath and cleaning it at the same time. Soap and dirt can get into the gaps in the ring, making it even dirtier, so be careful.

If you are unable to remove any dirt by self-maintenance, please contact KARAFURU. Cleaning is always free of charge.

Wedding rings don't necessarily have to be worn all the time, so don't feel pressured into wearing them every day.

Please be especially careful in these days of hygiene concerns, and in the summer when we tend to sweat more easily. And please take care of yourself and your ring, and enjoy your ring.
